Description

Electric parking brake motor gear unit position learning not completed
Detection condition
•  After replacing the electric brake control module, a condition in which the electric parking brake motor gear unit position learning has not been completed is detected.

Possible cause
Caution
•  After replacing the electric parking brake control module, if the electric parking brake has never been operated/released, a DTC may be output. After replacing the electric parking brake control module, operate/release the electric parking brake and have the system learn the electric parking brake motor gear unit position.
•  Electric parking brake control module malfunction

PERFORM ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE LEARNING OF ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE MOTOR GEAR UNIT POSITION
•  Pull up the electric parking brake switch to operate the electric parking brake.
•  Press down the electric parking brake switch to release the electric parking brake.
•  Clear the DTC for the electric parking brake control module using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the following procedure 3 times or more.
?  Pull up the electric parking brake switch to operate the electric parking brake.
?  Press down the electric parking brake switch to release the electric parking brake.
•  Retrieve the electric parking brake control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the electric parking brake control module, then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
