AUTO HOLD SWITCH INSPECTION [WITH AUTO HOLD]

Note

•  The AUTO HOLD switch is integrated into the electric parking brake switch.

•  For the AUTO HOLD switch removal/installation, refer to the electric parking brake removal/installation. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Continuity Inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the electric parking brake switch. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Verify that the continuity is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the electric parking brake switch. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Illumination Light Inspection

Note

•  The illumination light is built into the AUTO HOLD switch. If there is any malfunction, replace the electric parking brake switch.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the electric parking brake switch. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery positive voltage to electric parking brake switch terminal I, and connect terminal J to ground.

4.  Verify that the illumination light turns on.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the electric parking brake switch. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Indicator Light Inspection

Note

•  The indicator light is built into the AUTO HOLD switch. If there is any malfunction, replace the electric parking brake switch.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the electric parking brake switch. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Apply battery positive voltage to electric parking brake switch terminal K, and connect terminal B to ground.

4.  Verify that the indicator light turns on.
