Note

•  The integrity of the foot-motion detection sensor cannot be determined by a single unit inspection. When inspecting the foot-motion detection sensor, perform the following procedure.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Perform the power liftgate (PLG) control module DTC inspection and verify if DTCs related to the foot-motion detection sensor are detected. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE].)

•  If DTCs are detected, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE].)

•  If DTCs are not detected, repair the malfunctioning location according to the symptom troubleshooting. (See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) SYSTEM].)
