Procedure Before i-ELOOP-Related Part Servicing

Warning
•  If the terminal of one of the i-ELOOP-related parts contacts the vehicle body with the service plug of the capacitor connected, it could cause a fire and damage to electrical parts. In addition, if the terminal contacts your body, it could cause electrocution. Disconnect the service plug of the capacitor before disconnecting the i-ELOOP-related part terminal. (See Service Plug Disconnection/Connection.)
?  For the i-ELOOP-related part terminals, refer to the “PROCEDURE BEFORE i-ELOOP-RELATED PART SERVICING”. (See PROCEDURE BEFORE i-ELOOP-RELATED PART SERVICING [i-ELOOP].)

Service Plug Disconnection/Connection

Caution
•  Do not get dust or oil on the service plug because it could increase the resistance in the capacitor (i-ELOOP).

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the screws shown in the figure.

3.  Partially peel back the front mudguard (LH) with the front deflector (LH) installed.

4.  Remove the service plug installation bolt shown in the figure.

5.  Pull the service plug in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

Note
•  The service plug cannot be completely removed.

6.  Using the removed installation bolt, temporarily hold the service plug at the position to which it was pulled.

Caution
•  Tighten the bolt not using a tool but your hand so as not to strip the thread.

7.  Perform removal/installation of target i-ELOOP related parts.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
