Description

Improper assembly of radar unit
Detection condition
•  Destination information recorded in radar unit and destination information input by performing configuration are incompatible
Fail-safe
•  Inhibits Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system control.
•  Inhibits smart brake support (SBS) system control.
•  Inhibits distance recognition support system control.
Possible cause
Note
•  If the radar unit is replaced with a new one, the configuration is re-performed within 6 s after the ignition is switched ON (engine off).
•  Instrument cluster malfunction
•  Instrument cluster configuration is not completed.
•  Radar unit malfunction

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTCs
•  Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
No
Go to the next step.

RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FROM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO RADAR UNIT
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster configuration (using As-Built data).
•  Clear the DTC for the radar unit using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 6 s or more.
•  Retrieve the radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster configuration (using As-Built data) again, then go to Step 4.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY PART NUMBER OF RADAR UNIT
•  Remove the radar unit.
•  Is the part number of the radar unit correct?
Yes
Install the radar unit, then go to the next step.

No
Replace the radar unit, then go to the next step.
(See RADAR UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the radar unit using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 6 s or more.
•  Retrieve the radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the radar unit.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
