POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T]

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION)

2. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

3. Remove the intake manifold. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

1	PCV hose (See PCV Hose Installation Note.)
2	Intake manifold stay
3	Oil separator
4	Retainer (See Retainer Removal Note.) (See Retainer Installation Note.)
5	PCV valve

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Retainer Removal Note

Caution

• If the oil separator or its tab is damaged, blowby gas leakage may occur. Always perform the service according to the following procedures.

1. Insert a thin flathead screwdriver wrapped in a cloth into the gaps between the retainer and the oil separator.

2. Remove the retainer while spreading the side surface of the retainer so that the tab is not damaged.

Retainer Installation Note

Caution

• If the removed retainer is reused, airtightness may be decreased and blowby gas leakage may occur. Always install a new retainer to prevent a leakage.

1. Install the retainer with the alignment mark positioned as shown in the figure.

PCV Hose Installation Note

1. Install the marked side of the PCV hose to the PCV valve.
