EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T]

Warning
•  A hot engine and exhaust system can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the exhaust system.

Visual inspection

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

3.  Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector.

4.  Remove the exhaust gas pressure sensor. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

5.  Visually inspect the exhaust gas pressure sensor for the following malfunction:

•  Damage, cracks, dirt
?  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)


Voltage inspection

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

2.  Measure the voltage at the exhaust gas pressure sensor terminal B.

•  If the voltage is within the specification, go to the next step.
•  If the voltage is not within the specification, replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)
