FRONT AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

L.H.D.

Driver’s side

1.  Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Disconnect the connector.

4.  Remove the screws.

5.  Remove the driver-side front air mix actuator.

6.  Remove the screws.

7.  Remove the bracket.

8.  Insert a flathead screwdriver in the position shown in the figure (1).

9.  Remove the gear while pressing the tab in the directions of arrow (2) shown in the figure.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Front air mix actuator installation note.)

Passenger’s side

1.  Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Passenger-side front heat duct (See FRONT HEAT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the connector.

5.  Remove the screws.

6.  Remove the passenger-side front air mix actuator.

7.  Remove the screws.

8.  Insert a flathead screwdriver in the position shown in the figure (1).

9.  Remove the gear while pressing the tab in the directions of arrow (2) shown in the figure.

10.  Remove the bracket.

11.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Front air mix actuator installation note.)

Front air mix actuator installation note

1.  Engage the teeth of the gear on the front air mix actuator with the teeth of the gear on the front A/C unit side as shown in the figure.

R.H.D.

Driver’s side

1.  Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.

3.  Disconnect the connector.

4.  Remove the screws.

5.  Remove the driver-side front air mix actuator.

6.  Remove the screws.

7.  Remove the bracket.

Passenger’s side

1.  Set the temperature control to MAX COLD.

3.  Remove the following parts:

4.  Disconnect the connector.

5.  Remove the screws.

6.  Remove the passenger-side front air mix actuator.

7.  Remove the screws.

8.  Remove the bracket.

9.  Insert a flathead screwdriver in the position shown in the figure (1).

10.  Remove the gear while pressing the tab in the directions of arrow (2) shown in the figure.

Front air mix actuator installation note

1.  Engage the teeth of the gear on the front air mix actuator with the teeth of the gear on the front A/C unit side as shown in the figure.
