Description

Smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) forcibly turned off

Detection condition
•  Parking assist unit detected that the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) is forcibly turned off with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

Possible cause
Note
•  When the parking sensor switch is operated under the following condition and the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) is switched from on to off five times of more, the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) is forcibly turned off and this DTC is output.
?  While vehicle is stopped
?  Selector lever is in R position
•  Parking assist unit malfunction

VERIFY OTHER PARKING ASSIST UNIT DTCs
•  Clear the DTC for the parking assist unit using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the parking assist unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC U3000:49 displayed?
Yes
Replace the parking assist unit, then go to the Step 3.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT [REVERSE] (SCBS R) INTENTIONALLY TURNED OFF
•  Ask the customer if the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) has been forcibly turned off intentionally.
•  Has the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) been forcibly turned off?
Yes
System is normal. (Explain to the customer that the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) is forcibly turned off and this DTC is output when the parking sensor switch is operated and the smart city brake support [reverse] (SCBS R) is switched from on to off five times or more.)
No
Go to the next step.
3
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the parking assist unit using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the parking assist unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the parking assist unit.
No
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
