CANNOT OPERATE Android Auto™
Android Auto™ screen is not displayed even though Smartphone is connected to USB for Android Auto™
Possible Causes
•  The Smartphone being used by the customer is not compatible with Android Auto™
•  The Smartphone is connected to the incorrect USB port
•  The cable connecting the Smartphone and auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub has a malfunction
•  Malfunction in the USB port for the Android Auto™ in the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub
•  Connectivity master unit (CMU) malfunction

VERIFY IF DEVICE CUSTOMER IS USING IS COMPATIBLE WITH Android Auto™
•  Verify the Smartphone model being used by the customer.
Note
•  Requires the Android Auto™ app on Google Play™ and an Android™ compatible Smartphone running Android™ 5.0 Lollipop or higher.
•  Is the model compatible with Android Auto™?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Using the owner's manual, explain to the customer that the Smartphone he or she is using is not compatible with Android Auto™.

VERIFY IF SMARTPHONE IS CONNECTED TO USB PORT FOR Android Auto™
•  Verify if the Smartphone is connected to the USB port.
•  Is it the USB port for Android Auto™ with the Smartphone mark?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Connect the Smartphone to the USB port for Android Auto™.

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CABLE CONNECTING SMARTPHONE AND AUXILIARY JACK/USB PORT/SD CARD SLOT HUB
•  Replace the cable connecting the Smartphone and the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub with one which operates normally on another vehicle.
•  Can Android Auto™ operate?
Yes
Explain to the customer that the cable connecting the Smartphone to the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub is malfunctioning.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS USB PORT FOR Android Auto™
•  Connect the USB device to the USB port for Android Auto™.
•  Select the USB audio mode by operating the commander switch or the center display.
•  Is sound from the USB audio output?
Yes
Replace the CMU, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the symptom troubleshooting procedure, "no USB audio sound output".

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Connect all the connectors.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Connect the Smartphone to the USB port for Android Auto™.
•  Switch the ignition to ACC or ON (engine off or on).
•  Operate the Android Auto™.
•  Can Android Auto™ operate?
Yes
Troubleshooting completed (explain the contents of the servicing to the customer).
No
Verify the malfunction symptom in the symptom troubleshooting chart and perform the other applicable malfunction diagnosis.
