FRONT DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Driver's Side

1. Perform the front door glass preparation. (See FRONT DOOR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Operate the door lock actuator using the following procedure and deplete the energy stored in the backup power supply.

Note

• If the energy stored in the backup power supply has already been depleted, the door lock actuator does not operate. As this does not indicate an improper procedure, continue to perform the procedure as indicated.

(1) Remove the D.LOCK 25A fuse.

(2) Close the front door (driver's side)

(3) Repeat the lock/unlock operation of the door lock switch (driver's side) until all the door lock knobs do not move. (With door lock switch)

(4) Repeat the lock/unlock operation of the door lock knob (driver's side) until the door lock knobs other than the driver's seat do not move. (Without door lock switch)

3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

4. Remove the following parts:

(1) Front door trim (See FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2) Front door speaker (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3) Front door glass (See FRONT DOOR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4) Front door module panel (See FRONT DOOR MODULE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5) Front door key cylinder (See FRONT DOOR KEY CYLINDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(6) Front inner handle (See INNER HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5. Disconnect the keyless antenna connector. (with advanced keyless entry system)

6. While pressing the tabs of the clip in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the connector tabs from the front outer handle bracket. (with advanced keyless entry system)

7. Disconnect the front door latch and lock actuator connector.

8. Remove the door lock knob cable and inner handle cable from the clip.

9. Remove the screws.

10. Tilt the front door latch and lock actuator in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and lift it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the hook of the front door latch and lock actuator.

11. Move the front door latch and lock actuator down in the direction of arrow shown in the figure to remove the rod from the rod holder.

12. Remove the front door latch and lock actuator.

13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
