Caution
•  Always perform the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module finalization procedure after approval of SIM activation application.
•  Perform the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module finalization procedure in a location where GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and mobile phone reception can be received.
Note
•  A new Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module is in factory mode.
•  The Mazda ERA-GLONASS does not operate when a new Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module is in factory mode. To make the Mazda ERA-GLONASS operable, it is necessary to perform the finalization procedure so that the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module switches from factory mode to market mode.
•  There are two types of procedures for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module finalization, one is using M-MDS and the other is using vehicle switches.

Procedure Using M-MDS

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off) and wait for 5 min or more.

3.  Perform the DTC inspection for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module and verify that no DTCs are displayed. (See DTC INSPECTION [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE].)

4.  After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.

1.  "Electrical"
2.  "DCM"
3.  "Finalization mode"

5.  Perform the finalization procedure according to the directions on the screen.

•  If "Operation Successful" is displayed
?  Finalization procedure completed
•  If "Operation Unsuccessful" is displayed
?  Perform an inspection according to the following table.

Yes
Go to the next step.
No
After approval of SIM activation application, perform the finalization procedure again.

VERIFY THAT CONTENTS WHEN APPLYING FOR SIM ACTIVATION AND Mazda ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE INFORMATION MATCH
•  Do the contents when applying for activation and the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module information match?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
After approval of SIM activation application, perform the finalization procedure again.

VERIFY DTC
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module.
•  Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
•  VIN: RUM
?  Go to Step 4
•  VIN: Other than RUM
?  Go to Step 5

VERIFY THAT VIN IS STORED
•  Verify that the VIN is stored in the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS.
•  Is the VIN stored?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Enter the VIN in the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS and perform the finalization procedure again.

VERIFY GNSS_FIX
•  Display the GNSS_FIX using the M-MDS.
•  Is the GNSS_FIX 3D_Fix?
Yes
Wait for 5 min. or more and perform the finalization procedure again.
No
Move the vehicle to a location (outdoors) where the GNSS signal can be received and perform the finalization procedure again.

VERIFY TEL_SIGNAL
•  Display the TEL_SIGNAL using the M-MDS.
•  Is the TEL_SIGNAL value 0 x 03 or more?
Yes
Perform the finalization procedure again.
No
Move the vehicle to a location where mobile phone reception can be easily received and perform the finalization procedure again.


Procedure Using Vehicle Switches

•  Because each procedure needs to be completed within a predetermined period of time, refer to the following procedure before performing the set up work, and then verify the content of the work and the time limit.
