Detection condition
|
• With the LDWS switch on, the forward sensing camera (FSC) detects that its field of view is poor for a certain period of time.
|
Fail-safe
|
• Inhibits the Mazda Radar Cruise Control system.
|
Possible cause
|
• Windshield fogging
• Forward sensing camera (FSC) lens fogging
• Forward sensing camera (FSC) malfunction
• Heavy rain, dense fog, snow, glare
• No traffic lane lines of traffic lane lines are faded/patchy

• Verify if the windshield is fogged.
• Is the windshield fogged?

Yes

Use the defroster to clear the fogging from the windshield, then go to Step 3.

VERIFY FOGGING ON FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) LENS AREA
• Verify if there is any fogging on the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens.
• Is the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens fogged?

Yes
|
Use the defroster to clear the fogging on the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
• Clear the DTC for the forward sensing camera (FSC) using the M-MDS.
• Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h or more for 3 min or more with the LDWS switch on.
• Retrieve the forward sensing camera (FSC) DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the forward sensing camera (FSC).
Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
• Are any other DTCs displayed?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|

|
• Forward sensing camera (FSC) detects that its field of view is poor for a certain period of time.
• Poor field of view of the forward sensing camera (FSC) occurs due to various external and environmental factors.
|
Fail-safe
|
• Inhibits the lane departure warning system (LDWS).
• Inhibits the lane-keep assist system.
• Inhibits the adaptive LED headlights.
• Inhibits the high beam control (HBC) system.
• Inhibits the advanced smart city brake support (advanced SCBS).
• Inhibits the Mazda Radar Cruise Control system.

• Is the windshield fogged or dirty?

Yes

Clear the fogging or remove the dirt from the windshield, then go to Step 4.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY FORWARD SENSING CAMERA (FSC) LENS FOGGING OR SOILING
• Verify if the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens is fogged or dirty.
• Is the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens fogged or dirty?

Yes
|
Clear the fogging or remove the dirt from the forward sensing camera (FSC) lens, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
• Clear the DTC for the forward sensing camera (FSC) using the M-MDS.
• Drive the vehicle at 10 km/h {6.2 mph} or more for 10 min or more with the LDWS switch on.
• Retrieve the forward sensing camera (FSC) DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the forward sensing camera (FSC).
Go to the next step.

Go to the next step.
