Description

Error signal received from instrument cluster

•  Ignition switch error signal
•  Selector lever position (R position) signal error
•  Selector lever position (R position) signal not determined
Detection condition
•  Ignition switch error signal
?  The adaptive LED headlights control module received ignition switch error signal for 5 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
•  Selector lever position (R position) signal error
?  The adaptive LED headlights control module received selector lever position (R position) signal error for 5 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
•  Selector lever position (R position) signal not determined
?  The adaptive LED headlights control module detected undetermined selector lever position (R position) signal for 5 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
Fail-safe
•  When the setting is on using the personalization feature, the headlights HI turn on. (When setting is off using personalization feature, headlight HI illumination on/off depends on control by front body control module (FBCM))
•  Control of the headlight auto leveling system is continued.
Possible cause
•  DTCs are stored in the instrument cluster.
•  Instrument cluster malfunction
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module malfunction

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTCs
•  Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
•  Clear the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Retrieve the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 4.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Retrieve the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the adaptive LED headlights control module, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
4
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
