BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) WARNING LIGHT FLASHES WHILE NOT UNDER BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) WARNING LIGHT-FLASHING CONDITIONS (NO LIGHT SWITCH OPERATION (TURN SIGNAL SWITCH))
Description
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light flashes despite not satisfying the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light flashing conditions (vehicle speed above 10 km/h {6.2 mph} (Australian specs.)/30 km/h {19 mph} (except Australian specs.) or more, turn signal on, and vehicle in warning zone).
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light flashes, but the turn signals are off.
• Both blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light flashes under conditions other than the RCTA activation conditions (selector lever is in R position and target vehicle detection).
Possible Causes
• Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module recognizes a vehicle as being inside the warning zone when it is actually outside of it.
• BSM does not recognize vehicle speed correctly (blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module mistakenly recognizes vehicle speed as being above 10 km/h {6.2 mph} (Australian specs.)/30 km/h {19 mph} (except Australian specs.) or more).
• Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module mistakenly recognizes that turn signals have been operated.

2
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN START STOP UNIT INPUT SIGNAL OR BSM
• Monitor the following PIDs on the start stop unit using the M-MDS.
• Are the monitoring values normal?
Yes
Replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH).
No
Retrieve DTCs from the start stop unit, instrument cluster, and rear body control module (RBCM) using the M-MDS.
