DTC P164D:00		4WD control module configuration
DETECTION CONDITION		• 4WD control module detects coupling component calibration data error
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION		• Refer to “Fail-safe function table”. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM].)
POSSIBLE CAUSE		• Module configuration procedure is not done properly
SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM		Not applicable

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	COUPLING COMPONENT CALIBRATION DATA WRITING • Write the coupling component calibration data. (See COUPLING COMPONENT CALIBRATION DATA WRITING.)		Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED • Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the 4WD control module. (See CLEARING DTC [ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM].) • Using the M-MDS, perform the 4WD control module DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION [ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the 4WD control module, then go to the next step. (See 4WD CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM].)
3	VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT • Are any DTCs present?	No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
