DETECTION CONDITION
|
• 4WD control module detects vehicle type information data error
|
||
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
|
• Refer to “Fail-safe function table”. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRONIC 4WD CONTROL SYSTEM].)
|
||
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• PCM malfunction
• Wrong 4WD control module is installed
|

VERIFY PCM DTC
• Using the M-MDS, perform the PCM DTC inspection.
• Are any DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

|
INSPECT THE 4WD CONTROL MODULE
• Is correct 4WD control module installed?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the 4WD control module, then go to the next step.
|

|
COUPLING COMPONENT CALIBRATION DATA WRITING
• Write the coupling component calibration data.
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Using the M-MDS, clear the DTC from the 4WD control module.
• Using the M-MDS, perform the 4WD control module DTC inspection.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the 4WD control module.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY NO DTC IS PRESENT
• Are any DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
