Description	SAS control module collision judgement system malfunction
Detection condition	• Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module could not receive the SAS control module initial diagnosis completion signal from the SAS control module for 10 seconds since the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on).
Fail-safe function	• Do not use the CAN signal for the collision detection until the CAN signal from the SAS has returned to normal. (Determine collision detection using only Hard Wire signal)
Possible cause	• SAS control module initial diagnosis have not completed. • Malfunction in CAN communication line between the SAS control module and Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module • SAS control module malfunction • Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module malfunction

1	VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE DTCs • Retrieve the SAS control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE].) • Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [SAS CONTROL MODULE].)
No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION LINE • Perform the malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure for the multiplex communication system. (See FOREWORD [L.H.D.].) • Is the CAN communication line normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
No	Repair or replace the CAN communication line, then go to the next step. (See FOREWORD [L.H.D.].)
3	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Clear the DTC for the MAZDA ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 25 s or more. • Perform the DTC inspection for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY OTHER DTCs • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE])
No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
