Description	SAS control module collision judgement system malfunction
Detection condition	• Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module received the invalid signal from the SAS control module for 10 seconds with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
Fail-safe function	• Do not use the CAN signal for the collision detection until the CAN signal from the SAS has returned to normal. (Determine collision detection using only Hard Wire signal)
Possible cause	• SAS control module malfunction • Malfunction in CAN communication line between the SAS control module and Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module • Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE DTCs • Retrieve the SAS control module DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE].) • Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [SAS CONTROL MODULE].)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION LINE • Perform the malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure for the multiplex communication system. (See FOREWORD [L.H.D.].) • Is the CAN communication line normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Repair or replace the CAN communication line, then go to the next step. (See FOREWORD [L.H.D.].)
3	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Clear the DTC for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 25 s or more. • Perform the DTC inspection for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY OTHER DTCs • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE])
4	VERIFY OTHER DTCs • Are any other DTCs displayed?	No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
