Description

Walk-in actuator (RH) circuit malfunction

Detection condition
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module detects an open circuit or short to ground in the walk-in actuator (RH) circuit.
Fail-safe
Not applicable
Possible cause
•  Walk-in actuator (RH) connector or terminal malfunction (L.H.D.)
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module connector or terminal malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following circuits:
?  L.H.D.
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal B
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal A
?  R.H.D.
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH)
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH)
•  Open circuit in wiring harness between the following circuits:
?  L.H.D.
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal B
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal A
?  R.H.D.
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH)
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH)
•  Walk-in actuator (RH) malfunction
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module malfunction

•  Go to the next step.
R.H.D.
•  Go to Step 3.

INSPECT WALK-IN ACTUATOR (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the walk-in actuator (RH) connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 8.

INSPECT REAR ONE-TOUCH WALK-IN CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the rear one-touch walk-in control module connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 8.

INSPECT WALK-IN ACTUATOR (RH) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Verify that the walk-in actuator (RH) (L.H.D.) and rear one-touch walk-in control module connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following circuits:
•  L.H.D.
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal B
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal A
•  R.H.D.
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH)
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH)
If there is a common connector:
•  Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
Go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT WALK-IN ACTUATOR (RH) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Verify that the walk-in actuator (RH) (L.H.D.) and rear one-touch walk-in control module connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following circuits (wiring harness-side):
?  L.H.D.
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal B
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal A
?  R.H.D.
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH)
•  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH)
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following circuits:
•  L.H.D.
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal B
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal A
•  R.H.D.
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3C?Walk-in actuator (RH)
?  Rear one-touch walk-in control module terminal 3D?Walk-in actuator (RH)
If there is a common connector:
•  Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
Go to Step 8.

INSPECT WALK-IN ACTUATOR (RH)
•  Inspect the walk-in actuator (RH).
•  Is the walk-in actuator (RH) normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the second-row seat (RH), then go to the Step 8.

INSPECT REAR ONE-TOUCH WALK-IN CONTROL MODULE
•  Inspect the rear one-touch walk-in control module.
•  Is the rear one-touch walk-in control module normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the rear one-touch walk-in control module, then go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Reconnect all the disconnected connectors with the negative battery terminal disconnected.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Clear the DTC for the rear one-touch walk-in control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the rear one-touch walk-in control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the rear one-touch walk-in control module.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
