• Visually inspect the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor for the following.
• Is there dirt or foreign matter (reflective object) on the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor?

Yes

Remove dirt or foreign matter (reflective object), then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE OR POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) TOUCH SENSOR
• Inspect the power liftgate (PLG) control module.
• Is the power liftgate (PLG) control module normal?

Yes
|
Replace the power liftgate (PLG) touch sensor, then go to the next step.

No
|
Replace the power liftgate (PLG) control module, then go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS RESOLVED
• Perform auto open/close operation and verify that the operation does not stop or reverse.
• Is the auto open/close operation normal?

Yes

Troubleshooting completed. (Explain the contents of the servicing to the customer.)

No
|
If the malfunction has not been resolved, repeat the inspection from Step 1.
