FOOT-MOTION DETECTION FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) SYSTEM]

Description	The liftgate does not auto open/auto close even though the kicking motion is made in the direction of the foot-motion detection sensors.
Detection condition	• Power liftgate (PLG) control module memorizes DTC • Foot-motion detection sensor has a malfunction • Foot-motion detection sensor unit has a malufunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	PERFORM POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION • Perform the DTC inspection for the power liftgate (PLG) control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE].) • Are the same Pending DTCs present?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE].)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DETERMINE IF MALFINCTION CAUSE IS FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR OR FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT • Replace the foot-motion detection sensor. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) • Does the foot-motion detection function operate normally?	Yes	Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
2		No	Replace the foot-motion detection unit. (See FOOT-MOTION DETECTION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
