BONNET ADJUSTMENT

1. Measure the clearance and height difference between the bonnet and the front bumper.

Standard clearance

a: 1.7—5.3 mm {0.07—0.20 in}

b: –2.0—2.0 mm {–0.078—0.078 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure:

1. Loosen the bonnet hinge installation bolts, move the bonnet, and adjust the installation position. (See BONNET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Tighten the bonnet hinge installation bolts. (See BONNET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Loosen the bonnet latch installation bolts, and move the bonnet latch to adjust the clearance between the bonnet and the front bumper. (See BONNET LATCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4. Tighten the bonnet latch installation bolts. (See BONNET LATCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5. Turn the stop rubber to adjust the differences in height of the bonnet.

6. Verify that the clearances and differences in height of the bonnet and the front bumper are within the standard clearance.

2. Measure the clearance and height difference between the bonnet and the front fender panel.

Standard clearance

a: 2.5—4.5 mm {0.10—0.17 in}

b: –1.0—1.0 mm {–0.039—0.039 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure:

1. Loosen the bonnet hinge installation bolts, move the bonnet, and adjust the installation position. (See BONNET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Tighten the bonnet hinge installation bolts. (See BONNET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Turn the stop rubber to adjust the differences in height of the bonnet.

4. Verify that the bonnet opens/closes smoothly.

• If the bonnet does not open/close smoothly, adjust the bonnet latch installation position. (See BONNET LATCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5. Verify that the clearances and differences in height of the bonnet and the front fender panel are within the standard clearance.
