Description

Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system initialization not implemented
Detection condition
•  The initial setting for yaw rate information is not performed after replacing the SAS control module.
Note
•  If the ignition is switched off when an error occurs during the system initialization command execution, a DTC is detected indicating that the system initialization was not performed.
Fail-safe
•  Inhibits the Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system control
•  Inhibits the smart brake support (SBS) system control
•  Inhibits the distance recognition support system (DRSS) control (Radar unit type A (VIN serial No. 100001-))
Possible cause
•  Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system initialization not performed after replacing SAS control module
•  DTCs are stored in the SAS control module.
•  SAS control module malfunction
•  Radar unit malfunction

PERFORM MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM INITIALIZATION
•  Perform mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system initialization.
•  Clear the DTC for the radar unit using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 5.

VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE DTCs
•  Retrieve the SAS control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [SAS CONTROL MODULE].)
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS SAS CONTROL MODULE DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
•  Clear the DTC for the radar unit using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the SAS control module, then go to the next step.

No
Go to Step 5.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the radar unit using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the radar unit, then go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
