EGR COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

3.  Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

4.  Disconnect the wiring harness clips from the EGR cooler.

5.  Disconnect the EGR valve connector. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

6.  Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

7.  Disconnect the MAP sensor/IAT sensor No.2 connector. (See MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

8.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


EGR Cooler Installation Bolt Removal Note

1.  Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pipe.

2.  Remove the bolts shown in the figure and set the vacuum pipe aside.

3.  Remove the EGR cooler installation bolts.


Water Hose No.3 Installation Note

1.  Install the water hose No.3 as shown in the figure.

Water Hose No.2 Installation Note

1.  Install the water hose No.2 as shown in the figure.

EGR Cooler Installation Bolt Installation Note

1.  Install the EGR cooler installation bolts.

Tightening torque
A: 20—26 N·m {2.1—2.6 kgf·m, 15—19 ft·lbf}
B: 8—11 N·m {82—112 kgf·cm, 71—97 in·lbf}

2.  Install the vacuum pipe.

3.  Connect the vacuum hose as shown in the figure.
