OIL SEAL (COUPLING COMPONENT) REPLACEMENT

1.  Drain the differential oil into a container. (See DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Floor under cover No.2 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Floor under cover No.1 (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Brace bar

(4)  Tunnel member

(5)  Strut bar

(6)  HO2S harness bracket

3.  Remove the TWC from the mount rubber.

4.  Disconnect the TWC from the main silencer. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

5.  Suspend the TWC using a cable as shown in the figure.

6.  Remove the propeller shaft. (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Remove the coupling component. (See COUPLING COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Remove the oil seal from the differential carrier using a screwdriver or similar tool.

9.  Apply differential oil to the new oil seal lip.

10.  Install the new oil seal to the differential carrier using the SST.

11.  Install the coupling component. (See COUPLING COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

12.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

13.  Add the specified differential oil from the filler plug. (See DIFFERENTIAL OIL REPLACEMENT.)
