EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION
id074000801200
Function Inspection
1. Perform the following procedure so that the ambient temperature of the evaporator temperature sensor is close to the cabin temperature.
2. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
3. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
4. Display the climate control unit PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR DISPLAY [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)].)
5. Compare the temperature displays of the PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL].
6. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
7. Remove the following parts.
8. Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
9. Perform the following procedure so that the ambient temperature of the evaporator temperature sensor is close to the cabin temperature.
10. Measure the temperature of the air intake port.
11. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
12. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
13. Display the climate control unit PID [EVA_TMP]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR DISPLAY [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)].)
14. Compare the measured temperature with the temperature display of the dash-electrical supply unit PID [EVA_TMP].
Resistance Inspection
1. Perform the following procedure so that the ambient temperature of the evaporator temperature sensor is close to the cabin temperature.
2. Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
4. Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.
5. Measure the temperature of the air intake port.
