Note
•  When inspecting the evaporator temperature sensor, inspect it when it is installed to the A/C unit.

Function Inspection

1.  Perform the following procedure so that the ambient temperature of the evaporator temperature sensor is close to the cabin temperature.

•  Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
•  Set airflow volume to maximum.
•  Set the temperature to MAX COLD.
•  Turn the A/C switch off.
•  Set the air intake mode to REC.
•  Fully close all the doors and the door glass.
•  Leave for 5 min.

2.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

3.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

4.  Display the climate control unit PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR DISPLAY [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)].)

5.  Compare the temperature displays of the PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL].

•  If the temperature displays of the PIDs [EVA_TMP] and [AMB_TEMP_INTERNAL]. do not match, perform the procedure from Step 6.

6.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

7.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Side wall (passenger-side). (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

10.  Measure the temperature of the air intake port.

11.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

12.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

13.  Display the climate control unit PID [EVA_TMP]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR DISPLAY [CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT (FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER)].)

14.  Compare the measured temperature with the temperature display of the dash-electrical supply unit PID [EVA_TMP].

•  If it does not match the measured temperature, perform the resistance inspection. (See Resistance Inspection.)

Resistance Inspection

2.  Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).

3.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

4.  Disconnect the evaporator temperature sensor connector.

5.  Measure the temperature of the air intake port.
