Description	Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module power supply circuit malfunction
Detection condition	• The Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module detected an open circuit or a short to ground in the power supply circuit with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
Fail-safe	• Controls Mazda ERA-GLONASS by switching to Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module battery ? Stops Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module if collision determination is not received for 5 s
Possible cause	• DTCs are stored in the PCM. • Battery malfunction • Generator malfunction • Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module connector or terminal malfunction • Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module power supply circuit malfunction ? Short to ground in wiring harness between MAIN 200 A fuse and Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module terminal 1AF ? INTERIOR2 15 A fuse malfunction ? ROOM 25 A fuse malfunction ? MAIN 200 A fuse malfunction ? Open circuit in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module terminal 1AF • Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE DTCs AGAIN • Clear the DTC for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 25 s or more. • Perform the DTC inspection for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Go to Step 8.
2	VERIFY PCM DTCs • Retrieve the PCM DTCs using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)].) • Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)].)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT BATTERY • Inspect the battery. (See BATTERY INSPECTION.) • Is the battery normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Recharge or replace the battery, then go to Step 7. (See BATTERY RECHARGING.) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4	INSPECT GENERATOR • Inspect the generator. (See GENERATOR INSPECTION [WITHOUT i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)].) • Is the generator normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Replace the generator, then go to Step 7. (See GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITHOUT i-ELOOP (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)].)
5	INSPECT MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION • Switch the ignition off. • Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) • Disconnect the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module connector. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. • Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.
6	VERIFY MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Reconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) • Display the PID VPWR using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE].) • Is the voltage B+?	Yes	Go to the next step.
6		No	Inspect the INTERIOR2 15 A fuse, ROOM 25 A fuse and MAIN 200 A fuse. • If the fuse is blown: ? Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between MAIN 200 A fuse and Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module terminal 1AF. If there is a common connector: • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground. • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground. ? Replace the fuse. • If the fuse is damaged: ? Replace the fuse. • If the fuse is normal: ? Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between battery positive terminal and Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module terminal 1AF. If there is a common connector: • Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit. • Repair or replace the malfunctioning part. If there is no common connector: • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit. Go to the next step.
7	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED • Always reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Reconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.) • Clear the DTC for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 25 s or more. • Perform the DTC inspection for the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE]) • Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
7		No	Go to the next step.
8	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE])
8		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
