Possible cause

• Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module stores DTCs

• Hazard warning switch malfunction

• Light switch malfunction

• Period of less than 1 min has elapsed under condition in which vehicle position information obtained by Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module has not changed

• Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY DTCs • Display the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module DTC using the M-MDS. (See DTC TABLE [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE].) • Is a DTC displayed?	Yes	Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE].)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SWITCH • Inspect the hazard warning switch. (See HAZARD WARNING SWITCH INSPECTION.) • Is the hazard warning switch normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Replace the hazard warning switch, then go to Step 6. (See HAZARD WARNING SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3	INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH • Inspect the light switch. (See LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION.) • Is the light switch normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
3		No	Replace the light switch, then go to Step 6. (See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4	START FINALIZATION • Switch the ignition ON (engine off) and wait for 1 min or more after the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module obtained the position information. • Start the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module finalization. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE FINALIZATION PROCEDURE.) • Is the finalization completed correctly?	Yes	Troubleshooting completed. (Explain the contents of the servicing to the customer.)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY VEHICLE INFORMATION OF MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE • Display the PID [BODY_TYPE] [VEHICLE_NAME] of the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE].) • Is the vehicle information displayed correctly?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module, then go to the next step. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
6	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS RESOLVED • Switch the ignition ON (engine off) and wait for 1 min or more after the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module obtained the position information. • Start the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module finalization. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE FINALIZATION PROCEDURE.) • Is the finalization completed correctly?	Yes	Troubleshooting completed. (Explain the contents of the servicing to the customer.)
6		No	Repeat the diagnosis from Step 1. If the malfunction has not been resolved, replace the Mazda ERA-GLONASS control module. (See MAZDA ERA-GLONASS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
