Note
•  The image range may differ depending on the road surface conditions and the vehicle conditions. In addition, the rear mount camera cannot shoot images near the rear bumper and below the rear bumper.
•  Under the following conditions, images captured by the rear mount camera may be difficult to see, however this does not indicate a malfunction.
?  Light from the sun or a vehicle's headlights is reflected off the lens
?  The image area is dark due to low light levels such as in the evening
?  The temperature around the lens increases or decreases
?  Water droplets, snow, or mud is on the lens
•  When all of the following conditions are met, the rear mount monitor is displayed.
?  Ignition switch ON (engine off or on)
?  Selector lever at R position (ATX)
?  Shift lever at reverse gear position (MTX)

Possible Cause

•  Effects of non-genuine, after-market electrical components
•  360°view monitor control module B+ power supply circuit malfunction
?  Short circuit to ground in wiring harness between MAIN 200 A fuse and 360°view monitor control module terminal A
?  INTERIOR2 10 A fuse malfunction
?  ROOM 25 A fuse malfunction
?  MAIN 200 A fuse malfunction
?  Open circuit in wiring harness between battery positive terminal and 360°view monitor control module terminal A
•  Connector poor contact or terminal damage
•  Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
?  360°view monitor control module terminal U and rear mount camera terminal B
?  360°view control module terminal V and rear mount camera terminal D
?  360°view monitor control module terminal W and rear mount camera terminal A
?  360°view monitor control module terminal X and rear mount camera terminal C
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
?  360°view monitor control module terminal U and rear mount camera terminal B
?  360°view monitor control module terminal V and rear mount camera terminal D
?  360°view monitor control module terminal W and rear mount camera terminal A
?  360°view monitor control module terminal X and rear mount camera terminal C
•  rear mount camera malfunction
•  360°view monitor control module malfunction
•  Connectivity master unit (CMU) malfunction
•  Center display malfunction
•  Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Note
•  The malfunction may be caused by a non-genuine, after-market electrical component. If a non-genuine, after-market electrical component has been installed and it cannot be determined whether the malfunction cause is due to the non-genuine, after-market electrical component or not, more time may be required to perform the malfunction diagnosis. (See FOREWORD [360°VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE].)

VERIFY AFTER-MARKET ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION CONDITION
•  Verify if a non-genuine, after-market electrical component is installed.
•  Has a non-genuine, after-market electrical component been installed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 3.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS AFTER-MARKET ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION
•  Disconnect the non-genuine, after-market electrical component connectors.
•  Verify if the malfunction symptom recurs as stated by the customer.
•  Does the malfunction recur?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Explain to the customer that the malfunction occurred due to the after-market electrical component installation.

VERIFY DTCs
•  Display the instrument cluster, connectivity master unit (CMU), 360°view monitor control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR MOUNT CAMERA CONDITION
•  Is the rear mount camera lens soiled by dust or dirt?
Yes
Clean the side camera lens, then go to Step 12.
No
Go to the next step.
5
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS REAR MOUNT CAMERA
•  Are there any scratches or damage on the rear mount camera lens?
Yes
Replace the rear mount camera lens, then go to Step 12.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY 360°VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE B+ POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Disconnect the 360°view monitor control module connector.
•  Connect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
•  Measure the voltage at 360°view monitor control module terminal A (wiring harness-side).
•  Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the INTERIOR2 10 A fuse, ROOM 25 A fuse and MAIN 200 A fuse.
•  If any fuse is blown:
?  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between MAIN 200 A fuse and 360°view monitor control module terminal A.
If there is a common connector:
•  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for short to ground to determine the malfunctioning location.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which is shorted to ground.
•  Replace the fuse.
•  If any fuse is damaged:
?  Replace the fuse.
•  If the fuses are normal:
?  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between positive battery terminal and 360°view monitor control module terminal A.
If there is a common connector:
•  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
Go to Step 12.

INSPECT REAR MOUNT CAMERA CONNECTOR
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the rear mount camera connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 12.

INSPECT 360°VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR
•  Disconnect the 360°view monitor control module connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 12.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS OPEN CIRCUIT IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN 360°VIEW MONITOR CONTROL MODULE AND REAR MOUNT CAMERA
•  Verify that the rear mount camera and 360°view monitor control module connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between the following terminals (vehicle wiring harness side).
?  360°view monitor control module terminal U and rear mount camera terminal B
?  360°view monitor control module terminal V and rear mount camera terminal D
?  360°view monitor control module terminal W and rear mount camera terminal A
?  360°view monitor control module terminal X and rear mount camera terminal C
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
•  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between the following terminals.
?  360°view monitor control module terminal U and rear mount camera terminal B
?  360°view monitor control module terminal V and rear mount camera terminal D
?  360°view monitor control module terminal W and rear mount camera terminal A
?  360°view monitor control module terminal X and rear mount camera terminal C
If there is a common connector:
•  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
•  Go to Step 12.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) AND SIDE CAMERA
•  Verify that the rear mount camera and 360°view monitor control module connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following wiring harness terminals (vehicle wiring harness side) and body ground.
?  Rear mount camera terminal B
?  Rear mount camera terminal D
?  Rear mount camera terminal A
?  Rear mount camera terminal C
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
•  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between the following terminals.
?  360°view monitor control module terminal U and rear mount camera terminal B
?  360°view monitor control module terminal V and rear mount camera terminal D
?  360°view monitor control module terminal W and rear mount camera terminal A
?  360°view monitor control module terminal X and rear mount camera terminal C
If there is a common connector:
•  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an short to ground to determine the malfunctioning location.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an short to ground.
•  Go to Step 12.

INSPECT REAR MOUNT CAMERA
•  Inspect the rear mount camera.
•  Is the rear mount camera normal?
Yes
Replace the 360°view monitor control module, then go to the next step.
No
Replace the rear mount camera, then go to the next step.

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED
•  Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
•  Switch the ignition to ACC or ON (engine off or on).
•  360°view monitor switch ON.
•  Is rear mount camera image output normally?
Yes
Troubleshooting completed (explain the contents of the servicing to the customer).
No
Verify the malfunction symptom in the symptom troubleshooting chart and perform the other applicable malfunction diagnosis.
